In every moment, you are exactly where you need to be.

Somehow you've managed to find yourself in the website of Rolf Olsen, ordinary citizen. How did you get here? Why did you come? What are you expecting?

No matter — all are welcome!

Moved into our new condo on February 29, 2008 - Leap Day!

We sold our home in town and moved a few miles away. It's been a wonderful change for us -- no yard work, snow removal! Now, when we get up on a Saturday morning, we can strap our kayaks on the car and head out to Grafton Pond with no worries or feelings of guilt...

On April 5, 2006, I departed on a 'grand journey of discovery' to figure out what next to do in terms of gainful employment.

Back to work again.

After year's sabbatical, on April 2, 2007, I began a new position as a marketing manager at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.

Here's a poster I created about two years ago that combines an 'accidental' photo with a found passage written by A.J. Cronin, a writer I'd not heard of before. You can click on the image to download a PDF (about 1.3 MB) if you like, or you can click here for a lower resolution version (about 52KB).

Do you know what the image is. If you'd like to know what it is, send me an email.

Erik Rolf Olsen
Birthday: March 5, 1984

Erik graduated from Hyde School in Bath, Maine, on May 31, 2003. He's one heck of a musician. He plays trombone, guitar, drums — you name it, he can probably play it! He gave it a try at the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford (CT), but it wasn't right for him. He's an amazing person in so many other ways, and, sorry girls, he's in a relationship!

Elissa Claire Olsen
Birthday: March 23, 1988

Elissa is on 'hiatus' from college and just moved to Burlington, Vermont, where she'll find a job and figure out what to do next. She plans to return to school to complete her degree.

Einstein

Birthday: September 3, 1993 (or thereabout). Unfortunately, she doesn't live up to her namesake.

Here we are on the aft deck of the ms Veendam in January '99 with my mother, sister and brother and their respective families.

Sleepless in Seattle?

Our dear mother Ruth married Bob Lawson in June 2001 — what a handsome couple!

Snorkel Girl...

Here's Elissa snorkeling off Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas.

Romance on the high seas!

Sara (neice) and David met on the ms Westerdam in 1996 on the last big family cruise. They were married in August, 2000!

Our Dear Friend, Van!

Van & Elissa have been pals since Elissa was about 6 months old! Van (really Evangeline Cunningham) lives in Bangor, Maine, and she comes to visit us in New Hampshire whenever she can. She's really a part of our family!
